To exclude a specific product from showing up in recommendations universally on the whole site, an exclusion can be made for the specific product. See the documentation for Applying Exclusions for more details on this interface.

When configuring a widget, if a category of items should be excluded from recommendations, such as excluding all warranties, then a rule excluding a certain category of product can be configured. See the Defining Product Recommendation Rules documentation for more information.

If there are a large number of categories that need to be excluded from all recommendations, it is recommended to reach out to your customer success manager to see if the analytics team for personalization can configure a back-end rule to prevent certain products from being recommended.

 

We need to review the code before going live to ensure there are no errors that will cause issues with the integration and potential errors on the Providence Personalisation live environment.

 

Yes, Providence can integrate with your CMS, but the level of integration will vary depending on the integration method.

Native Integration:

  • Set up your development environment. You will need to have an Episerver Commerce site set up to utilise the Recommendations package to integrate with Episerver Perform and Reach.
  • Obtain an Episerver Personalisation account. An account will be provided to you once an order for Episerver Perform and Reach is placed and approved.
  • Install and configure the Recommendations package.
  • Customise your Providence Perform recommendations and render the recommendations.

JSON Integration:

  • Provide Providence with a product feed as per the feed specifications (located in the feeds section of this knowledge base).
  • Obtain a Providence account. An account will be provided to you once an order for Episerver Perform and Reach is placed and approved.
  • Add JSON code to every page of your website to provide Providence with tracking data.
  • For Perform, add JSON code to render recommendations on agreed pages and then render the recommendations.
  • For Reach, create the mail campaigns in the dashboard and embed the recommendations code in the email templates.
